Through the following job readiness training workshops, we will help equip students with skills for successful employment and careers–beginning the summer of 2023.

This training experience is in partnership with the Summer Youth Employment Learning program of Travis county and has the following requirements:
– Must reside in Travis county
– Must be currently enrolled and attending school
– Must have a current school year Student ID or report card
– Must have a social security card
– Must be 14 years old by 4/1/2023
– Must complete a minimum of 5 hours of job readiness training
– Must complete the intern application process and summer job application
– NOTE: Applications can be printed from http://www.traviscountytx.gov/syep or picked up at sites listed at http://www.traviscountytx.gov/syep

The LifeChangers training occurs over two days and students must attend both days. Parents must attend day one. The training is interactive with resume writing, learning and performing real interviews, dressing for success, preparing for educational paths towards careers, professional network, company professionalism and more.

The first training opportunity will be at Burnet Middle School in Austin, TX.

There’s planning, sharing, problem solving, adjusting, explaining, supporting, influencing, modeling, correcting, praising, coaching, teaching, listening, counseling, advising, facilitating, protecting, providing, preparing, submitting and even quitting. Leading ain’t easy!

As a Leading Lady, there’s other elements of discrimination as well. All these components of consequences of leading have moments of joy and fulfillment; but they also have seasons of despair, fatigue, sickness, loneliness and even depression.

LifeChangers is teaming up with Turning Point Bible Fellowship church to facilitate hope, help and healing for all leading ladies–wives, widows, divorcees, newlyweds, mothers, daughters, students, graduates, employees, supervisors. It’s a one-day conference and you can learn more here.

It’s a conference for women and girls (middle school and older) that will focus on encouragement and cultivating an atmosphere of renewal, restoration and revival through the sharing biblical principles and practical application.

There is a registration cost that includes lunch. LifeChangers, however, will provide scholarships for every young girl (middle school or high school) that an adult woman brings.  So daughters, nieces, mentees, grand-daughters can attend free when you bring them with you.  Register on the conference page and let us know (info@lchangers.org) so we can pay the cost for the registration.

After the conference, we’ll sharing information about the next growing session and service outing for Leading Ladies.

We’re returning from our summer camps and rest as well. Now we’re ready to get back to helping communities and schools in producing success-making changes in the lives of students and families.

In June & July, we employed and trained students with leadership and facilitation skills for them to give the same skills to younger kids in mini-camps every week. We’re grateful to Manor ISD welcoming us to Manor Middle School for the #Inspire4Life summer experience.  Some of the skills learned were:

• cooperation and coordination
• planning and leading events
• leading and facilitation group discussion
• facilitating conversations towards maturity and skill development
• developing and maintaining healthy relationships
• developing and living by principles and values–like respecting authority
• being aware and responding to the needs of others

We like to start off right, so we’re partnering with Turning Point Bible Fellowship for a Back2School Praise Rally. There will be time for picture taking, fun competitions, words of encouragement and messages to prepare students and educators mentally, emotionally and spiritually for the school year. We welcome you to join us there!

We’re excited about 2017. We’re in the second half of the Spring semester and we’ve already seen attendance improvement through our Project H.O.P.E. program and participation has more than doubled at our Saturday leadership camps–with a focus on attitude, behavior and choices.  In partnership with Travis county, we trained over 50 students with job readiness skills through our Inspire4Life program. And, we are excited about employing many of them this summer.

We recently became a partner with Manor ISD and look forward to facilitating positive life change and making LifeChangers in the Manor community–starting with our summer camp being in Manor, hiring/training Manor students to serve and impact Manor communities. 

In partnership with F.C.A. (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), we’ve been serving as a character coach to the football team and training them on specific areas of character for men.

We’re just getting started! Coming soon is our Destroying the Gap college trip, 6th grade Project H.O.P.E. camp at Burnet MS, The Search scavenger hunt at Turning Point church, and family retreat all before school ends. And, our Inspire4Life weekly mentoring groups pick up again between STAAR exams.

Much of this is possible due to our continued support of our board and advisory members, our continued partnership with Mr. Medel, Robert Moreno and Educational Insight, our continued support by Pastor Harvey and Turning Point Bible Fellowship and two new additions–Ms. Giselle Otamendi as our Burnet site coordinator and Ms. Amy Williams as our Manor outreach coordinator.

We can always use help in changing lives. Pray for us. Volunteer and serve along side of us. Give through us. Refer families to us. Become a LifeChanger with us.

Project H.O.P.E. (Helping Overcome Problems & Experiences) equips, encourages & empowers students and their families with conflict resolution skills using active-learning based classes, experiential-learning day camps, and weekly coaching with from local colleges and various careers. This program helps improve student and family relationships, reduces truancy and prevents school drop-out. Over 300 families have participated with an average of 95% success rate.

Inspire4Life provides life and leadership development through mentoring and summer camp experiences in academic readiness training, job readiness training and life management training. Over 500 families have participated and almost 100% shared better job access, better life management, and better overall academic success.

Destroying the Gap provides financial, social, mental and academic college readiness. Over 50 families have participated and 100% graduated high school, entered college or a trade school with financial assistance.

For twelve (12) years, the programs of LifeChangers have recovered drop-out students, improved the attendance of students, assisted students to succeed academically, prepared students to enter and excel in college, developed students and their families with life and conflict resolution skills all while providing enriching and memorable experiences.

LifeChangers has a support structure in place to address the needs of students through technology, mentoring, and programming. Comprehensively, LifeChangers provides ongoing services to address truancy, behavior, and academic considerations through Project HOPE, Destroying the GAP, Saturday-DTG Academy, and Inspire4Life. LifeChangers provides intervention and tracking through the provision of services including sign-in sheets, attendance checks, electronic documentation, electronic notifications in coordination with parents, campus Dropout Prevention Specialist and School Resource Officers (SRO), Juvenile court systems, and home visits when appropriate

• Project HOPE ( Helping Overcome Problems and  Experiences) and proceeds with ongoing mentoring (G-Force Mentors)
•  Destroying the GAP (DTG), Saturday-DTG Academy , and culminates with the summer program Inspire4Life. Ongoing Training and Consultation with AISD administration and support staff is a critical component in securing consistent communication between LifeChangers, AISD and other schools.

Each component of this comprehensive model addresses tenets of the scope of service and performance requirements and will be detailed in the following proposal. To date, LifeChangers has utilized it’s programs to serve approximately 500 families a year.  Due to LifeChangers’ tracking system, over 94% have entered college or a trade school; 90% have re-enrolled in school after dropping out, and 75% participate in all programs year round.
